Challenge: A Creative Industries startup with a disruptive immersive experience concept needed to validate user needs and understand how different user groups would interact with their prototype to inform product development.
Approach: Innovate UK Design Foundations grant project conducting user research across target user groups to explore needs, behaviours, and prototype interactions.
Outcomes
Researched 3 user groups across leisure
20 participants tested the prototype and provided feedback
Identified 9 key user needs and interaction patterns
Product decisions: validated features, design changes, user experience improvements
Business results: follow-on funding secured (Innovate UK), partnerships formed (CoSTAR), market interest (music and gaming)
Next phase: product development direction, pilot customers, commercial traction
