Grant Service Pilot: New Service

Challenge: An SME needed to build a new grant services department offering innovative products to clients, requiring development from concept through to market-facing operation.

Approach: Built a spin-in department as a pilot, developing innovative grant service products, collaborating with operations, marketing, and sales functions to establish market presence. Delivered training, workshops, guest speaking, and panel appearances to build a profile. Designed and delivered a grant BootCamp to upskill existing and new clients.

Outcomes

  • Department kept lean with a subcontractor model

  • Created new, innovative and standard products from Grant BootCamp to Grant Writing

  • Client outcomes: grants won and clients converted from and to R&D Tax Credit clients

  • Local market presence: speaking engagements, partnerships, and increased brand recognition for wider services

  • Department sustainability: maintained MRR, generated new sales pipeline with ongoing support from management
